Why can't I get cable through my 2 way splitter?
I've heard everyone talking about using a splitter from my internet to give me cable but i can't get it to work....and yes i have it plugged in the right way.
a splitter won't give you cable internet... it simply isolates sections of the network allowing more connections through one rj45 plug.... think of it as a double adapter. and you still need a router to connect it to.
If you are trying to split an internet connection you need a router, not a splitter. as a splitter simply gives you more plugs more your router. and by the way, they are called switches.
you need to plug your modem into your router, and then connect the other computers into the router (wirelessly or wired). and then you can plug your switch into your router to give you more plugs
