How can I find what coaxial cable goes where in my house?
I am extending my DISH network system in my new house. The old owners had Cable and had a 5 way splitter in the cable box outside and then had some sort of structured wiring box in the basement in the A/V closet. Is there a quick and easy way to find what cable goes where? I already tried using the RF output on an old VCR and putting the signal through the splitter outside but I am pretty sure the signal does not make it anywhere. Any Solutions?
I would use a simple battery (in one end) and a voltmeter (on the other side); A friend and a couple of wireless phones or walkie talkies might help as well.
