How do I remove a POTS splitter to get DSL working at all jacks in the house?
My DSL only works from one jack in the house. I believe it's due to a POTS splitter in the phone box on the exterior wall of my house; it is directing the DSL signal to a specific jack in an unused room.
How do I remove the POTS splitter and reconnect the wiring to get DSL working at all the jacks in the house?
I'm currently using wireless, but I want to clear out that room so would like to move all the modem, routers, cables, etc out of there.
It's not technically a problem with AT&T. The POTS splitter has its benefits, but the major negative is the singular jack with DSL signal.
I think the previous owner of the house had ordered DSL back in the day. That was the manner in which it was hooked up. Now, they save cost by mailing you filters instead of having a tech install the splitter.
I don't want to call them out if it's something I can do on my own. They charge by the hour.
I
call your phone company. all of your jacks should have a dsl connection. This is because all jacks require a filter, you should have it. I'd call tech support.
