Pots Splitter Line
What should I do to install POTS splitter to make ADSL works (better) with my ADT?
have been having dropped connection recently, noticeably worse after ADT installed. ATT technician says it is my line problem. I tried disconnecting ADT phone line, but problem still exists. Motorola DSL modem statistics shows a large amount of CRC errors (not sure what it means). Perhaps I need a splitter at the POTS?
There is a special DSL filter for security systems. Call 1 800 ADT HELP and tell them that the Tech did not install a filter (only if he did not). You most likely have a house phone wiring problem. Check the phone demarcation point (a connection point where the phone line from the pole is connected to the house wiring). There may be a loose wire.
