Which satellite has better/stronger signal and better HD quality and hardware and support overall, Dish or DTV?

I'm considering the switch from Cox Cable because it is so expensive, but never tried Directv or Dish Network. I want the best and strongest signal even if it rains hard or bad weather, and I want the highest quality in HD and channels and best support overall.

Which one would that be.... Direct TV, or Dish Network?

Both signals are the same strength, however Dish Network gets all it's channels from 3 satellites while Directv uses 5.
