will these coax cables work?
I am thinking of getting this from amazon: Monster THXV100F8WHT THX Certified Coaxial Video Cable (8 feet)
I have a DirectTV HD-DVR.
I just purchased a Monster surge protector/power conditioner.
I figure I can run the cables from the dish into the conditioner, and then, using these THX cables, run from the conditioner into the dish receiver itself.
Will this be ok? Will these coax cables still give me the HD signal from the satellite?
If so, will I notice an improvement over the old cables used?
They will work, but like most Monster brand products they are over-priced for what you get. (I will have to say that at $17, they are not horribly over-priced, but I wouldn't want to pay that much myself.) If you care to save a few bucks you can get a very high-quality RG-6 quad-shield cable from Walmart for less than $10.
Unless your present cables are really low-quality RG-59 dual-shield, you won't see any difference at all.
